Allyson Felix

Allyson Michael Felix is the Los Angeles native born on the 18th of November, 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley as well as her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix displayed an early talent for athletics when she was in high school at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She discovered her sprinting talent at that time. She finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships after only 10 weeks, after the first time she tried out. Felix, who graduated high school in 2003, signed an agreement with Adidas. She then was accepted into the University of Southern California and studied elementary education. The first Olympic medal came at the 2004 Summer Olympics held which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for running 200m in 22.18 seconds. In 2005, at the Helsinki World Championships, Felix was the youngest world champion for running 200m. In 2007, she won the title in front of her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix competed at the Olympics at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo always finishing in the top three of her races.
